Analysis and Perception of Multimedia Data
Owing to the rich emerging multimedia applications and services in the past decade, super large amount of multimedia data has been produced for the purpose of advanced research in multimedia. Research in multimedia intelligence mainly faces three challenges, including the modality gap, social platform gap and the gap between physical and cyber spaces. Towards this end, I have carried out in-depth research on the "perception and analysis of multimedia data" in an effort to solve the three challenges of modal gap, platform gap and physical-cyber space gap. In my talk, I will present our recent progress on cross-modal knowledge representation, cross-platform topic discovery, and emerging event detection.
